A bit about me

Life is a wonderful adventure, but it can also be incredibly painful. It is one of the great contradictions that has fascinated me all my life. Like so many others, I searched for the solution for years. Surely there must be a path to enlightenment?!

What I have learned over the years is that enlightenment exists by the grace of darkness. We cannot eradicate the "negative" or painful and only retain the "positive" or pleasant. One does not exist without the other.

Unfortunately we sometimes have to navigate through the dark in order to be able to live lighter again.

My mission is to help you find your way through the darkness. You will learn to deal with difficult thoughts and feelings differently: based on trust, acceptance and love, instead of fear, condemnation and aversion. So that you can meaningfully connect with your full authentic self and from there with the world around you.

I’m not just a psychologist who nods and smiles, or a coach who holds you accountable. I’m someone who genuinely cares about your journey and is there for you to support you every step of the way.

Think of me as your guide and sparring partner on this journey toward becoming the best version of yourself.

With my extensive background in psychology and a deep understanding of personal development, I offer a unique blend of professional insight and practical tools. My approach is down to earth, yet warm and empathetic. And can also be confrontational when needed. Always tailored just for you.

As a psychologist | coach I have been researching Mental Health and Emotional Wellness for over 25 years. I earned my Masters degree in Psychology at the University of Amsterdam, after which I provided training and coaching in Personal Leadership and Dealing with Emotions all throughout Europe.

Since 2016 I run a coaching practice in West-Hollywood / Los Angeles from where I guide both American and Dutch clients all over the world through online and in-person consultations.

In 2018 I published an 'anti-self-help book' about accepting that life is messy and challenging, and learning how to deal with that. Others know me from the Dutch TV-documentary 'Iris and the 12 dates' (Net5, 2019) in which I coached the famous Dutch pianist Iris Hond during her search for true love during all nine episodes.

As of 2020 I am also a certified meditation teacher. Which allows me to combine various Eastern and Western techniques, for both body and mind, to enhance my clients emotional resilience and mental clarity.

What my clients say about me

  • Michelle S.

“The coaching has brought me a lot. The most important thing for me is that my confidence has increased and is still growing. Lennart has taught me to reconnect with my feelings and I am learning to put words to them so I can express myself.

  • François B.

Lennart makes me look at things differently. I now dare to stand up for myself more. I am more aware of how I think and feel and of what I need. This allows me to make better choices and to let go of control every now and then. What a relief!

  • Michael K.

Lennart's guidance is very pleasant and fits in well with what I need. I genuinely feel that I can be myself with Lennart. Together we carefully break down my 'wall' brick by brick. This coaching program came at the perfect time.

  • Kathy M.

This couples coaching was just what we needed. We felt challenged to really do something with the things we heard and learned during the sessions. And that has greatly improved our relationship. Thank you Lennart!
